Vacation in Colorado - Day 1 (Keystone)
One word pretty much sums up our first day of skiing (snowboarding!) -- exhaustion! After getting to the ski house (which is a friend of my friend Chris' - Hollandaisse!) at about 3AM on Wednesday night / Thursday morning, we didn't have much left on Thursday for the actual skiing. We forced ourselves up at about 10AM and hit the slopes for a 1/2 day around 12:30. Our first run was ... well , bad. There were a bunch of bare patches and moguls (which I now call "bumps" after hanging out with my new cool snowboarding friends.. more on that later).
...
OK - exhaustion truly set in last night (12/15) and had to skip the details for day 1 and 2. I'll just post some pics for now.

...
OK - need to wrap up Day 1, even though I'm back on the road (for work that is). So, yeah, the very first run to the trip was rough. We were just so exhausted and it was really tough terrain. Lots of hard packed bumps and steep blues. Yeah, I said blues. I would have been happy warming up on greens!
Anyway, we found a few blues to cruise down, but only for a few runs... maybe four or five. So, Keystone was kind of a bust, but (don't tell Chris, but) I'm impressed we actually got out there.
After hitting the supermarket on the way home for snax, we soon discovered Madden 2006 back at the house. It was ON. Unfortunately, I got my rear handed to me. BUT, due to the generosity of my friend Chris, I was let back into the game (about five times) and pulled off a victory in the last few seconds... ahhh.. the thrill... even when someone lets you win. As it turns out, that was the first of many wins during the trip. Turns out, I'm dominant.... Hollaaahhhh!
I think we both collapsed around 9 or 10 pm.... oh, but not before having a little Quiznos for din-din.
Day 2 brings an excellent snowboarding (AND skiing lesson)... to be continued.
